I2-01 1928 Mercedes-Benz S Murphy Speedster
The Mercedes-Benz S-Type was the ultimate high performance car of its era. This S-Type was ordered by a Santa Barbara railroad executive who traded in a Bugatti Grand Prix car for it, and fitted it with a Murphy-built boat-tail speedster body. In the 1930s it was owned by the Marx brothers and participated in a match race against a Duesenberg J at Muroc Dry Lake.
