P052D - THREE MEISSEN “FELS UND VOGEL” TWO-HANDLED BEAKERS AND SAUCERS AND SUGAR BOX
Circa 1725, crossed swords and R marks to the beakers, blue crossed swords mark to the saucers, all within blue double concentric circles, the gilding possibly Augsburg
Typically painted in blue and enriched in gilt with birds in flight above stylized plants; together with a Meissen oval sugar-box of similar date and decoration later mounted in silver as an ashtray (7)
Cup: 3 in. (7.6 cm) high
Saucer: 5 ½ in. (14 cm) diameter
Sugar-box: 5 in. (12.7 cm.) long
